GO!

This new brass quintet by Anthony DiLorenzo captures the high energy, fast pace, and brilliant tension of his "Fire Dance" and takes it to an entirely new level! The intensely driving, machine-like compound rhythms are relentless, making this an excellent way to start or end a program.

Hansens Quintet

Frederik Thorvald Hansen, born on May 3, 1847 in Copenhagen and passed away there on January 24, 1915, was a Danish trumpeter. In 1884, Hansen became the principal trumpeter of the Royal Danish Orchestra. This is the second movement from his brass quintet.

Synopsis

"Synopsis" is a piece we in BrassUnit commissioned for our summer tour in 2022. The piece was written by our good friend Lukas Flink, who is both a composer and a highly talented up-and-coming trombonist. We're excited to share it with you!

Wendepunkt

Bo Nilsson, also known as “The Genius from Malmberget,” had a unique relationship with music—quite different from what we typically expect from a composer. As a self-taught musician, he drew inspiration from everything that passed through his ears, which is clearly reflected in his music. Toward the end of his life, he was awarded the Medal for the Promotion of the Art of Music by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. Through his work, Bo Nilsson made a name for himself across much of the Western world.
